Cove & Reef puts emphasis on core values with Carnival R&R

Friday, June 24th was a day of celebration for teams at The Cove & The Reef as they put added emphasis on Atlantis’ Core Values.

“Each month we at the Cove and Reef Atlantis aim to explore and implement innovative and exciting opportunities to recognize and reward our outstanding employees,” explains Quality Assurance Director Kenneth Romer. “This month we wanted to recognize our stand out team members for the month of May and to also refocus in on the established Core Values of the Atlantis family,” he adds.

In this vein, a Junkanoo Carnival-styled celebration was held with each department taking part entering a creative lead banner while showcasing an energetic and equally passionate representation of team members who were all seeking to win bragging rights and the coveted monthly prize.

As estimated, some 300 colleagues participated in the parade, lined the route cheering on their teams or packed the Team Dining Room. Bay Street came alive at The Cove as participants paraded from the employee entrance at the Security Checkpoint to the staff cafeteria which was transformed into, as Romer puts it, “a carnival-themed luxury restaurant accompanied by Junkanoo music and a live DJ.”

From there the highly-charged monthly employee recognition ceremony took center stage. 13 Line Staff and 1 Manager received recognition pins and certificates, along with a commemorative photograph.

“We believe that we will only gain the competitive advantage through our employees who we challenge to exceed guest goals… and as they focus on our guests, we will continue to focus on them and celebrate the many excellent stars working among us,” says Romer.
