A FIRE in downtown Nassau has spread from Kelly's dockyard to a cluster of buildings near the Cabinet Office.

The blaze started in Kelly's dockyard at around 7.45am and has spread to nearby buildings west of the Bacardi Store on Bay Street and East Street.

Firefighters are working with three fire engines to control the blaze before it spreads to the Churchill Building on the eastern side of Rawson Square where the Cabinet Office is located.
