The Bahamas means business at the 2016 Caribbean Basketball Confederation (CBC) Championships for Under-16 Men, currently ongoing in Georgetown, Guyana.

The country got its second rout in as many days, easily handling the British Virgin Islands (BVI), 101-40, at the newly renovated Cliff Anderson Sports Hall in Georgetown yesterday. In their first game of the tournament on Sunday, they blasted Antigua & Barbuda 109-71. The Bahamas will be off today, and will play Dominica at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

"Team Bahamas appears to be heads above the competition," said Team Manager Anton Francis, who was instrumental in the team's development. Quentin "Three Ounce" Hall is the head coach of the team, and he is assisted by coaches Wayde Adderley and Nigel Ingraham. Francis was active during the preparation process.

"Our boys have been called strong and aggressive. We force the game into a frantic pace with suffocating defense. Coach Hall has mixed the line-up to avoid scouting. Coach Adderley has been in charge of the defense and has forced 78 turnovers in two games. Coach Ingraham was responsible for Team Bahamas' high-octane offense that has put up 210 points in two games."

Michael Cartwright had 17 points, nine rebounds and five steals for The Bahamas. Samuel Hunter and Dominick Bridgewater dropped in 14 apiece, and Michael Williams scored 13. Team captain Chosen Levarity added nine points and eight rebounds.
