BAPTIST Bishop William Rahming was hailed yesterday as a "statesman" and "fiery preacher."

Bishop Rahming, 77, founder of Messiah Baptist Church, Palm Beach Street, died in hospital last week. Rev Carl Rahming, pastor of St Paul's Baptist Church, Fox Hill said "he was a fiery preacher who knew his subject matter and stuck to it. We had a great relationship although we never saw each other every day. I would preach at Messiah Baptist during special services. He preached at my ordination."
