David Foster the Canadian-born composer, musician, and producer who has discovered so many really great singers was being interviewed on television one day, and the interviewer asked him the following question, "How does one become successful?" His answer was immediate -- he said without any hesitation whatsoever, "Do what you love to do." Oh how true that really is.

You know, as I observe and indeed listen to many people, including young people, as they talk about what they'd like to do with their life and what kind of career they'd like to have, it appears to me that first and foremost in their mind is, how can I make a whole lot of money, how can I become rich. My friend, with all due respect, this is most definitely not the way in which to choose a career, believe me.

Why D. Paul should I not focus on how much I can make by choosing a certain profession, you may query? The answer to that question is indeed quite simple and it is this. If you do as David Foster suggested and thus do what you love to do and indeed do it very well, you will eventually make a great deal of money. However, you should know by now, that there's more to life than just making money, or at least there should be. Surely you'd like to enjoy your life as you pursue your chosen career? I presume the answer to that question is a resounding yes. Well then, you need to do what you love to do, as today's title suggests and pursue your passion.

Yes indeed, if you pursue your passion with great gusto, there's no way in which you can fail. Oh sure, at the beginning things may be slow as you perfect your craft and daily strive for excellence at what you do. However, if you stay the course and continue to improve day after day, year in and year out, you will indeed be tremendously successful. I guarantee it.
