Apostle Edison Nottage and his wife Prophetess Mattie Nottage, a senior pastor and co-pastor, respectively, at Believers Faith Outreach Ministries International have dropped a new single, "I'm A Warrior". The song has a simple and succinct message- that God's people are warriors and that his people have to keep fighting the good fight of faith. Pictured is the cover of their single. A kingdom warrior is resilient and relentless in his or her pursuit of God, the things of God and obtaining the promises of God. A kingdom warrior is one who understands that anything worth having is attained by paying a price, just as Jesus endured the cross for sinners for redemption to be possible. Kingdom warriors don't give up easily; they continue to fight.

With that in mind, Apostle Edison Nottage and his wife Prophetess Mattie Nottage, senior pastor and co-pastor, respectively, at Believers Faith Outreach Ministries International have dropped a new single, entitled "I'm A Warrior", which has a simple and succinct message. The message is that God's people are warriors and that his people have to keep fighting the good fight of faith.

"Warriors keep on fighting and keep on believing," said the apostle. "Even when wounded, or when things do not line up the way that a warrior expected, they never give up."

He said God is always with his people and watching over them, but that believers have to wage spiritual warfare for the things they hope to receive from God.

The song has a reggae beat, according to the Nottages, and it is their declaration over the Body of Christ. They opted for the popular tune because they say a lot of people can identify with the sound, but that the message that warriors keep on fighting and keep on believing is consistent throughout the single and as such is not lost to the music.

"We [kingdom warriors] don't give up easy; we continue to fight. We don't die. We fly. We thrive. We multiply and continue to go until we get the intended results," said the apostle.

The message in the song came to the Nottages because they became concerned with the overwhelming number of Christians that were giving up on their journeys and losing hope whenever they became discouraged. He said his wife noticed that when people faced any resistance, or when things did not go as planned, they were ready to walk away from their relationship with God.

"You would preach messages, and you would tell them how they have to trust God and have faith in God, but it just seemed like each week persons would call you and say they don't know if they can make it anymore. They were tired of this and it looked like nothing was working out for them," she said.

The apostle said his wife prayed that through their song's message, believers would adopt that kingdom warrior spirit.

Mattie Nottage believes the song's genre will surprise people. According to her, when people hear "I'm A Warrior", they will be tempted to move. She said it is their intention for the music to touch the lives of the people listening, to receive a positive message from God.

Even when wounded, or when things do not line up the way that a warrior has expected, Edison Nottage said they never give up. He believes God is always with them and watching over them, but believers have to wage spiritual warfare for the things they hope to receive from God.

Referencing Hebrews, he said many died not receiving their promises but were steadfast in their faith in God.

"I think Christians give up too easy," said Edison Nottage. "They are so quick to want to surrender and throw in the towel and go after something else, but the spirit of the warrior is one who continues to fight the good fight of faith and continues to trust that God is going to make a way, and God is going to help to bring them out and bring to pass whatever they are believing God to bring to pass. That's what the spirit of the song is all about."

Mattie Nottage refers to the project as a warrior movement. She said the spirit of a kingdom warrior speaks to a person's mindset; there are things people cannot get from God if they lack a fighting spirit, including a miracle.

According to the prophetess, God is calling the Body of Christ to awaken the spirit of a warrior within people.

"God is saying to the church, it's time to arise and fight -- not with physical weapons, but with spiritual weapons."

With the murder count at 56 and violence making almost daily headlines, Mattie Nottage said the spirit of the prayer warrior needs to awake now.

"It's time to awaken the kingdom warrior in you. It's time to awake, and arise, and go to battle. Because if you don't you are going to be defeated. If you don't move now, if you don't believe now, if you don't trust God now, if you don't fight now, then it means then that you are going to fail, or you're going to lose an opportunity that you could have gained in this season that may never happen again," she said.

"I'm A Warrior" is available at the Nottage's church on Carmichael Road West. Their services are streamed live at www.mattienottage.org.

The Nottages, who have ministered together for more than a decade and a half, are no strangers to the gospel music scene. Mattie Nottage is the singer and songwriter of the singles "I Still Want You", "Revival is Here", "Not Guilty" and "I Refuse to Die".

The Nottages have collaborated on a 12-track worship album, "Worship Experience: New Dimension of Glory". The worship album leads listeners into unchartered realms of worship and features backgrounds of Believers Faith Praise Singers.

Edison was also inspired to pen the book "Don't Quit, Get Back in The Fight".
