The second IBA Bahamas basketball showcase is set for June 16-18 at the Remnant Tabernacle Gym on Carmichael Road. A number of the country's top high school basketball players are expected to take part.

Young basketball athletes around the country will be afforded another opportunity to showcase their skills to National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) scouts at home, this time at the International Basketball Academy (IBA)/Get Me Recruited (GMR) "Super 60 Showdown Bahamas".

The two-day combine is set for June 16-18 at the Remnant Tabernacle Gym on Carmichael Road.

IBA Bahamas is headed by director Denycko Bowles, who is the head coach of the Doris Johnson Mystic Marlins.

The showcase is set to feature some of the top high school talent the country has to offer. Players already confirmed for the combine include Lathaniel Bastian (Doris Johnson), Qymeh Gibson (Sunrise Christian), Recarno Nixon (Zion Christian), Chalberto Darling (St. Louis Christian), Daniel Hall (Charles W. Saunders), Azaro Roker (Anatol Rodgers), Gailyn Young (Doris Johnson), Arlington Brown (Teleos Christian), Edward Roker (West Oaks Academy), and Adam Johnson (Jordan Prince William) among many others.

Local players and coaches welcomed the inaugural edition of the event last year with a large turnout. IBA Bahamas hosted 60 student-athletes at the camp, which hosted program representatives from John Hopkins University, Fisk University, Cape Fair Christian High School, Hallandale High School and Lamont Taylor, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GetMeRecruited.com.

Taylor said that he was impressed with the talent he saw the last time he was in The Bahamas, so much so that he saw it fit to officially partner with IBA Bahamas in their efforts.

"GetMeRecruited got the opportunity to see the talent looming in The Bahamas. It should come as no surprise the island is full of great basketball players given the history of players who originate from there, including current ESPN top 2017 prospect DeAndre Ayton," he said. "Surprisingly, many coaches have not yet realized there are many players in The Bahamas who would be perfect to fill their rosters.

"Denycko Bowles and Heather Bain, directors of the International Basketball Academy Bahamas, intend to change that. They organized this combine with the island's top prospects and brought in scouts, high school coaches, as well as college coaches. GetMeRecruited was highly impressed with the organization of the combine and the talent that participated. We intend to continue our relationship with IBA Bahamas because there is a need for exposure and there are good-hearted people trying to make it happen."

Get Me Recruited is a Raleigh, North Carolina-based company whose goal is to connect high school players and college coaches.
