Just as students are exhaling from the pressures of final exams comes Praise Party 2016. The annual event hosted by the youth division of Global United Fellowship (GUF) provides participants with an opportunity to gather in a safe, non-competitive environment and be exposed to some of the best local musical, dramatic, spoken word and comedic talent in Christendom.

Organizers say they are committed to providing a forum where young people from around the country can unite and gain national exposure for their ministry gifts in preparation for the global stage. The event will be divided into three segments -- prayer, praise and worship.

The youth have been assigned to pray for specific areas in their lives that they find most challenging as Christians. Additionally, prayers will be offered for their peers throughout the country. In the praise segment, they will be free to celebrate the joy of their salvation uninhibited and unhindered, and freely display their gratitude to God. When it comes to worship, the GUF leaders are hoping to fuel a fire in the adolescents causing them to seek more of the presence of God in their private devotions and to guide their followers into unrestrained worship.

The evening will feature music from popular gospel artists DJ Counselor, Mr Lynx, Big Bruh, Christian Massive and DJ Godson.

The Praise Party will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 10 at Agape Church, Kennedy Subdivision where Bishop Designate Helen McPhee is the senior pastor.

GUF is an interdenominational Christian group of churches, ministries, fellowships, and pastors who acknowledge, accept and submit to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Its mission is to foster more connectivity among Christian believers by uniting the Body of Christ, equipping the saints for ministry, enhancing marriages and the family, resurrecting the dying discipline of prayer and building authentic relationships. The Bahamas is eight among provinces in GUF, including the Turks and Caicos, South Africa and the United States.

This year the signature event of the fellowship, The Gathering, will be held July 12-15 at the Baltimore Convention Center, Baltimore, Maryland. Hundreds of Bahamians are expected to be among delegates from more than 25 different countries at the third annual conference.
