Sandyport Beaches Resort was amongst a group of destination resorts showcased by the Ministry of Tourism recently when 100 top producing Travel agents from across North America visited as part of the Ministries ongoing programme to promote Bahamian tourism.

The travel agents who were selected for booking the highest numbers of tourists to The Bahamas, enjoyed an eventful three days visiting all the hotels they book for their clients. The packed itinerary included fun time at the Bahamas Junkanoo Carnival and evening dinner parties.

Sandyport Beaches Resort proved a particular favourite for many who had not visited before. Currently rated #2 on TripAdvisor it was therefore a significant stop for the important tourism business partners who viewed the full spectre of visitor accommodations - including boutique hotels, mega-resorts, all-inclusive hotels, and brand chains.

“It was wonderful to see the travel agents pick up on exactly what we try to offer, which is the relaxing tranquillity and island feel most people associate with the family islands,” said Resort President Rowena Jones. “What we are offering is relatively unique amongst Nassau hotels.”

General Manager Vernon Moss said, “We were really pleased to hear the travel agents say that the Sandyport Beaches Resort could fill a need for their clients, particularly their European clients. We were told that The Bahamas, especially Nassau, is gaining a reputation for luxury and all-inclusive resorts. Travel agents have more success if they have a wider choice for their clients and our resort is midrange in price while still offering the comfort, beauty and atmosphere they want in an island vacation.”

About Sandyport Beaches Resort and Hotel
Sandyport Beaches Resort and Hotel is a colourful collection of picturesque canal or lagoon beach-front villas in a tranquil spot with plenty of colonial charm. The 72 boutique hotel bedrooms, studios and suites vary in layout and décor but most have ensuite kitchens or kitchenettes for additional convenience. The one, two and three bedroom deluxe suites provide plenty of space for a family. Rooms are decorated with a fresh, beachy, island décor centred on Bahamian scenes and sea life and vibrant Bahama Hand Print pillows and cushions with tropical patterns and colours, accent the linens.

Nicely managed local greenery forms a natural backdrop throughout the grounds and the walk-way to the Sandyport ocean beach. Stunning panoramic views greet as the path turns to sand between your toes and your gaze takes in the glittering turquoise sea. Continue to enjoy the view from your hammock or a comfy beach lounger in the shade of a Palm tree, and then sip local cocktails at the al fresco beach-side Blue Sail Restaurant and Bar.
