Section 49A of the Parliamentary Elections Act allows certain categories of persons to qualify as Overseas Voters if they come under the following groups:

1. Employees of a Bahamas Embassy, Consulate, High Commission or Foreign Mission, or his/her Bahamian spouse;
2. A Bahamian student pursuing a bona fide course of study, or his/her Bahamian spouse;
3. Staff member of the Ministry of Tourism;
4. Staff member of the Bahamas Maritime Authority or any agency of the government.

All persons who fall within the above categories can apply to the Revising Officer at a Bahamas Embassy, Consulate or High Commissioner as an "Overseas Voter" to vote at the Advanced Poll on Tuesday, 31 May 2016, by submitting a completed Form J no later than 20 May 2016.
