Loretta Butler-Turner in the stocks - but all for a good cause as part of the “Captured” event held by Rotaract Club of East Nassau at the weekend.

LORETTA Butler-Turner found herself put in the stocks and jailed for a good cause at the weekend as part of the Rotaract Club of East Nassau’s popular 'jail and bail' fundraiser Captured.

The Long Island MP was joined by Miss Bahamas Earth, Darronique Young, Saraan Gibson, the Y98 FM on-air personality, and Daniel Lowe, of Mario Carey Realty among those held until enough funds had been pledged by their friends and associates to secure their release on bail.

Organisers said the event was "hugely successful", raising over $7,000 on the day, all of which will go towards Rotaract's many community and international service projects.

The three-hour event on Saturday afternoon - 'Captured by Rotaract Part Two' - was held at the Pirate Republic Brewing Company, Prince George Wharf and hosted by Bahamian entertainer TAP. The event also featured drinks specials and was broadcast live on Y98.
