Washer Dryer Giveaway lightens load for one lucky mom

For the Colebrooke family, the load just got a little bit lighter thanks to a recent win in the Roma & Suazul Mother's Day Washer & Dryer Giveaway, sponsored by Milo Butler Distributors.

Last month, customers purchasing any combination of Roma detergent and Suazul fabric softer from participating locations were eligible to enter to win the General Electric appliances. Michael Colebrooke and his wife made their winning purchase at Budget Meat on Yamacraw Road, after an employee urged them to enter.

An excited Mr. Colebrooke collected the washer and dryer last week on behalf of his family. He stated that this was the first time they had ever won an item in a giveaway and it was ironic that when the call came in to notify them, his wife was actually doing laundry at the time.

Margo Gibson, brand manager at Milo Butler Distributors, said the promotion came about as a way to reward hard working mothers like Mrs. Colebrooke and to also strengthen the brand awareness for Roma and Suazul.

"A lot of Bahamians are very familiar with the Roma laundry detergent brand, however Suazul is a newer product in the market. We tied the two products together so that we could gain more exposure and some customer loyalty towards the Suazul brand," she explained.

The 12 participating outlets collected more than 450 entries during the month of April. Gibson attributes high participation in the promotion to Milo Butler engaging the cashiers in the retail locations who encouraged shoppers to participate.

"We did something a little different with this promotion in that we wanted to tie in the cashiers at various locations and give them an opportunity to participate as well. As an incentive, we offered the cashier with the most entries a $50 gift card. That encouraged them to push the promotion because they are on the front line and come into contact with the customers."

John Chea Meat Mart #8 submitted perfect customer entries for the promotion. Bargain Mart cashier, Vaince-Anne Farrington logged the most entries, collecting 45 submissions from customers. Based on the win, Colebrooke said that his family will continue to buy Roma and Suazul because the products brought them such good luck. Milo Butler is the exclusive distributor for Roma and Suazul products in The Bahamas.
