A SUPREME Court jury returned four not guilty and 14 guilty verdicts against accused bribe taker Freddie Solomon Ramsey concerning the BEC/Alstom bribe scheme.

Just three and a half hours after Justice Bernard Turner excused the nine member panel to deliberate on eight days of evidence, the jury found Ramsey not guilty of two counts of conspiracy to commit bribery and guilty of two counts of conspiracy. As for the 14 actual counts of bribery, they found him not guilty of two counts of bribery - but guilty of the remaining 12 counts of bribery.

Wayne Munroe has asked court to arrest the verdict pending the outcome of a constitutional motion on the argument that Ramsey's right to a fair trial was breached.

Ramsey, 79, faces a $10,000 fine and four years imprisonment.
