Board members of the Antiquities, Monuments and Museums Corporation were in Grand Bahama on Wednesday, April 27, for a Board Meeting and tour. During their visit they paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Grand Bahama, the Hon. Dr. Michael Darville. The group toured a number of facilities including the Garden of the Groves, the proposed site for the Art Gallery and Museum (the old Shannon Golf Club), and the old Commissioner's residence in West End, which will be the new museum. The purpose of the trip was to tour the facilities and see what needs to be done with respect to restoration on the island.

Shown seated during the courtesy call are: Melvin Seymour, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry for Grand Bahama; Minister Darville; Courtney Strachan, chairman, AMMC; and Dr. Gail Saunders, vice-chairman, AMMC. Among those shown in the back row are: Marsha Cooper, office manager for Grand Bahama (sixth from left); and Dr. Keith Tinker, Director of AMMC (third from right). (BIS Photo/Vandyke Hepburn)
