A 26-year-old man charged with the murder of a man in Andros over the weekend made his initial appearance before a magistrate yesterday.

Tristan Griffin, of Lowe Sound, Andros, stands accused of the fatal stabbing of Jamal Levy on April 24.

Griffin was not required to enter a plea to the charge when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt.

He makes his next court appearance in June. At that time, he is expected to be served with the prosecution's case against him and have the case transferred to the Supreme Court.

He has been remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services.
