THE Bahamas National Festival Commission and the Carnival Band Owners Association have announced the official route for the 2016 Road Fever street parade.

In a press release issued yesterday, officials said both groups are committed to working together to ensure a successful event on Saturday, May 7.

Road Fever will start in the parking lot of the Tommy A Robinson National Stadium. It will proceed towards the Bethel Avenue Highway, continue onto the Tonique Williams Darling Highway, down Blue Hill Road up Poinciana Drive and onto Nassau Street for the final stretch into Da Cultural Village.

The general public is advised that there will be intermittent road closures along this route on Saturday, May 7, from 10am to 8pm.

The statement said the Royal Bahamas Police Force is ready to ensure the safety of participants and members of the general public who plan to watch the parade along the route. Vendors wishing to set up along the route are asked to contact the Royal Bahamas Police Force directly for permits.

Tickets are now on sale for the Nassau leg of Bahamas Junkanoo Carnival. They can be purchased at any Cash & Go location or online at BahamasJunkanooCarnival.com.

Tickets to Da Cultural Village are $15 on Thursday and Saturday. On Friday for the Music Masters Song Competition Finals and Mega Concert, tickets are $25 for general admission and $75 for VIP. Da Cultural Village will be free every day from noon to 6pm.
