The facts are stubborn

Hilary Clinton said something which I thought was quite odd for her to say at the time, when a reporter asked her a very pointed question about the Benghazi debacle. The reporter asked the question in a rather direct and accusatory way and she replied with her usual phony smile -- the facts are stubborn. Yes indeed they are, as the truth becomes clear in the end, no matter how one tries to deceive everyone. It reminds me of that well-known saying -- you can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time.

No you can't, although a whole lot of people don't fully understand this obvious truth as they spend their entire life, it would appear, trying to fool everyone, including incidentally themselves. How very sad. One thing is for sure, as much as we try, and boy-oh-boy do some people try, we can never, ever fool ourselves, for deep in our heart we are fully aware of the truth.

So D. Paul, what is truth, you may query? Well I'm glad you asked that important question. The dictionary states that truth is that which is. So we can't change or bend the truth as so many consistently endeavor to do. So as much as one may try to twist, bend or subvert the truth, it just will not work, for as Hilary Clinton of all people stated on TV, the facts are stubborn. Yes they are.

Now it would appear that some people are pathological liars. That's right, some people don't appear to be able to consistently tell the truth, as they are pathological liars, whom no one will ever trust. My friend, to succeed, we all need the assistance of a whole lot of people. We will not be able to get the assistance we need from others unless they totally trust us. So, always, always tell the truth, for as today's short title puts it, the facts are stubborn.
