To commemorate ten years in business, Tristar Insurance Agents & Brokers Ltd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding with The College of The Bahamas on Tuesday, at a special assembly held at the Government High School. The signing of the MOU solidifies Tristar’s commitment to become a President’s Scholars Program Donor and provide a four-year scholarship to one twelfth grade student at Government High School.

The student will be chosen from a pool of thirty students currently enrolled in the Tristar Education Optimization Program (TEOP), a pilot program launched at Government High School designed to provide mentoring to senior students.

“Tristar has an interest in developing Bahamian youth through education and character building, which marries well with the college’s mission to support and drive national development through teaching, research and innovation and service to the community,” stated Dr. Rodney Smith, President of The College of The Bahamas during his keynote address. “We are pleased to partner with Tristar and the Government High School in this worthy undertaking.”

TEOP is yet another pillar in Tristar’s corporate architecture which demonstrates community commitment. It supplements Tristar’s Broker Development Program launched in 2014, designed to identify and train the next cadre of insurance sales executives and entrepreneurs.

“We are proud to celebrate ten years of providing innovative solutions that help our clients achieve their financial goals,” stated Harold Antor, President of Tristar. “As a wholly Bahamian owned company, we feel it is our duty to positively impact the community and do our endeavor best to ensure that the future generation has every opportunity to reach their potential.”

Tristar is a full-service insurance brokerage company offering life and health insurance.

Over the past 10 years, Tristar has built a reputation as an industry leader with “Bright Minds Providing Innovative Solutions” for Bahamians. In 2011, the company launched its proprietary product FirstCare Medical Plan, the nation’s leading primary healthcare plan. Corinna Neely serves as President of Firstcare Medical Plan. To date, thousands of individuals and over 150 groups benefit from the plan which provides access to a network of private doctors and medical service providers in New Providence and Grand Bahama.

Launched by three successful Bahamian insurance executives in 2006, Corinna Neely, Dwayne Pearce (Retired), and Harold Antor, the company has grown considerably over the last decade. Tristar currently employs about 30 Bahamians and operates offices in Nassau and Freeport.

Today, Tristar represents a number of reputable local and international insurance companies and has millions of dollars of commissionable premiums in force.
