Truth or deception

Fri, Apr 1st 2016, 11:45 AM

I was watching an interview on television where they were interviewing Republican candidate for president of the United States, Dr. Ben Carson, who in my opinion is a wonderful human being. The interviewer asked him if what an advertisement which another candidate had run depicting him, Dr. Carson, in a certain manner, was the truth or not? He simply replied in his usual calm, quiet, good-natured way with a smile on his face. "truth or deception." When he said that, I immediately wrote it down as the title of this article. So D. Paul, what exactly do you mean by that title, what are you endeavoring to convey to us today, you may query?

Well, in a nutshell, are you a totally honest person in all that you undertake in life?  Do you always, and I do mean always, tell the truth, tell it like it is or do you continually like to twist or manipulate the truth in order to endeavor to deceive people? Well my friend, how do you personally answer that very important question? I do hope you're a straight shooter, as the saying puts it, so that people learn to trust you when you utter statements for they have grown to know you as a straight shooter.

Yes indeed, on the road to success, it's most important for us to be able to get the assistance and support of as many people as possible and to do this, there's no doubt about it, we need to earn a reputation of being honest and upright in all that we do.

There's a well-known saying which goes as follows, you can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all the people all the time. No you can't! But my friend, you should never try to fool, to deceive anyone, if you really want to gain a reputation as a straight shooter, a person who tells it like it is. When you get a reputation for being honest in all that you undertake in life, you will succeed.
