Keep on trucking

A good friend of mine is Sir Arthur Foulkes who demitted office as governor general of The Commonwealth of the Bahamas a couple of years ago. He visited with me in my home recently and as we talked about many topics, he informed me that he was extremely busy almost as busy as he was when he occupied Government House. He further stated that he and his wife Lady Joan were inundated with requests to speak at various functions. I marveled at how well he looked as he spoke excitedly about his life and the various projects he's involved with right now.

Sir Arthur is 87 years of age, or as he would probably phrase it, he's 87 years young and he appears to be fit as a fiddle as that well known saying puts it, and full of energy as he pursues his daily activities. I guess to use the phrase that is the title of this particular article, he's still trucking -- yes he is, and I sincerely hope he will continue to keep on trucking for many more years to come.

Yes my friend, the only way for anyone to become a failure in life is to quit trying, to literally give up, and of course as I have relayed to my valued readers again and again over the years, success is a never-ending journey. It's a continual quest to achieve worthwhile goals and objectives that should continue right up to the day we make our transition into the next exciting phase of our everlasting life.

So my friend, if for any reason you thought, incorrectly of course, that you have arrived as many misinformed people put it, please think again for the ladder of success has no top rung. No matter what great feats of accomplishment you have achieved in life to date, your journey is not over, so you need to keep on trucking. Yes you do!
