A man who was convicted of four counts of armed robbery in his absence after he jumped bail was brought before a judge yesterday.

A jury convicted Neville Knowles last December after he failed to appear. His co-accused, Angelo Roker, who was a police constable when the crimes occurred, was acquitted at a trial before Acting Justice Cheryl Grant-Bethel. The men were accused of robbing Gabrielle Smith, Burton Wallace, Chrystal Bethe and John Darville in separate incidents on September 1, 2011. Knowles was arrested over the weekend.

Grant-Bethel remanded him into custody until March 9 when he returns for sentencing. Francis Cumberbatch prosecuted. Keith Seymour appears for Knowles.
