A severe weather warning is in effect for the northern Bahamas with possible flooding, intense lightening, hail and funnel clouds; water spouts and tornadoes.

The Met office has issued warnings for New Providence, Abaco, Andros, Bimini and the Berry Islands.

After tornadoes and severe weather in Grand Bahama, several islands should be prepared for bad weather this evening. Storms are expected to hit New Providence between 5 and 7pm.

The photos below were emailed to Bahamas Local and are said to be of the damage in Freeport.
