BAHA Mar has received up to 800 job applications on behalf of general contractors working on the new Commercial Village and the re-routing of West Bay Street.
Although Baha Mar Resorts Ltd is not the general contractor on the $2.6 billion project, Robert Sands, vice-president of external affairs, said the company is assisting contractors by "providing a bank of potential candidates for screening for hire."
Mr Sands confirmed receipt of 300 applications from Grand Bahama tradesmen, and a list of about 1,500 names from the Ministry of Labour's skills bank.
