New Birth Church Pastor Bruce Davis knows he can walk the walk, and definitely backs it up with the talk. He preached a series of sermons on the topic "Go Fish", encouraging the church members to let their light shine and share their faith so that the lost would have a chance to be found. The church members rose to the occasion.

Led by Davis and his wife, co-pastor Sheniqua Davis, they cancelled the church's mid-morning service and took to the streets in the Marathon community, going door-to-door to share their faith. Davis said they were able to reach many people who were "un-churched" and saw how much unorthodox ministry was needed. The church members are now gearing up to host a watch night event on Friday, December 18 at the Marathon intersection and Tonique Williams Darling Highway intersection to again try to reach the people as they take the message outside the walls of the church and to the streets.
