The prosecution plans to drop an armed robbery case against a woman following the murder of her co-accused.

Crystal Moss and Quincy Ferguson were jointly charged with an armed robbery that occurred in 2013. However, after Ferguson's murder at Minnie Street on August 29, the prosecution said it intended to withdraw the matter against Moss. She appeared before Senior Justice Stephen Isaacs on Friday for a presentation of a nolle prosequi to officially bring the matter to an end. However, prosecutor Ambrose Armbrister said the document directing the withdrawal of the matter had not been prepared.

Noting that Moss had appeared before the court several times for the discontinuation of the matter, Armbrister suggested that the matter be adjourned sine die. Isaacs acceded to the request. Moss, who is on bail, is represented by attorney Stanley Rolle.

In other court news, a man accused of murder will have a lawyer appointed to represent him at trial.

Drew Storer, 19, of Fort Fincastle, on Friday pleaded not guilty to the August 13 murder of Arlington Butler Jr. at Burial Ground Corner. Storr entered a not guilty plea when he was arraigned via video link before Justice Bernard Turner. Storr said he did not have the means to hire a lawyer. As a result, one will be appointed for him.

Storr makes his next court appearance on November 30 before Justice Carolita Bethell for a trial date to be set.
