Grand Bahama Youth March rounds out National Youth Month

National Youth Month celebrations in the country closed out on Grand Bahama this past Sunday with a massive parade and rally in Eight Mile Rock, attended by many civic groups and organizations, church leaders, parents and teachers.

Young people from throughout Grand Bahama assembled at the Sea Grape Community Park and marched to St. Stephen’s Park at the entrance of the town of Eight Mile Rock. Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture, the Hon. Dr. Daniel Johnson participated in the parade and addressed the young persons. He also took time out to pay tribute to former Member of Parliament, Mr. Lindy Russell for his contribution to community and youth development.

At the Youth March on the grounds of St. Stephen's Park, an Investiture Ceremony was held at which five young recruits became Boy Scouts, making the commitment to be the best they can be. Boasting of a membership of more than 400 members and 12 groups, Scouts District Commissioner Reginald Dean said he was very pleased and excited about the impact the youth organization is having. YOUTH PARADE – Hundred of young persons from throughout Grand Bahama took part in a youth march and rally on Sunday, rounding out the celebration of National Youth Month.
