Hope for the 2,000

Dear Editor,

Thousands have lost jobs. Many others remain unemployed or under-employed. There is very little that can be said to any of them that would help right now except: 'Here's a job.'

Considering the job market, the focus for persons who are now unemployed or under-employed is going to have to be: How can I use my God-given talents and skills to make money on my own?

I know a registered nurse who came home from abroad and sold food out of the back of her car until she was finally hired as a nurse. By the time she got the job, she was making more money selling food than she was offered working as a nurse. Don't let pride kill you! As long as its legal, moral and ethical, do what you have to do until you get what you want. God helps those who do what they can, with his help.

To the jobless, finding a job right now may seem impossible but there is hope. Don't be discouraged! While you wait for a job, remember to pray constantly and ask God's guidance. No matter how small the job market, with God all things are possible. He promises that if we seek him first, all these things will be added. Seek him, by reading your Bible and praying every day, and also doing his will. Remember, when you honor God, he will honor you.

If you do this, you can be assured that you will not only get what you need, but it will be above and beyond anything that you can imagine. Remember that even during your waiting period, God has promised to take care of your needs. Ps 34:10: "The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing." Most of God's promises come with conditions. In this case, "seek the Lord" is the condition; do that and you will not lack any good thing!

What God has in store for you, no man can stop. Just trust him!
