The Scottsdale Vixens are well on their way to a 12th straight title in the New Providence Volleyball Association (NPVA).
The Vixens got their third straight victory to start the season, knocking off the winless Lady Technicians in four sets, 25-15, 25-13, 22-25 and 25-14, on Sunday. They improved to a 3-0 win/loss record, while the Lady Techs dropped to 0-3.

On Friday, the Central Gas Lady Panthers turned back the Lady Technicians in four sets, 25-19, 11-25, 25-18 and 25-9; and in the men's featured contest, the Scotiabank Defenders defeated the defending champions Technicians in four sets, 25-20, 20-25, 25-16 and 25-19. The Technicians won their first title in nine years last season, and at the same time, stopped the Defenders from winning a fifth straight and seven out of eight. The Technicians, who won four straight NPVA titles from 2001-04 and five out of six from 2001-06, defeated the Defenders in four games last season.

Meanwhile the Vixens have dominated the ladies division for the past decade. They improved to 3-0 on Sunday. The Defenders lead the men's standings with a 2-1 win/loss record, the National Fence Intruders are at 1-0, and the defending champions Technicians are winless at 0-2.

There will be no games on Wednesday and Friday of this week. Volleyball action will resume on Sunday October 18, with two matches scheduled.

In the ladies opener, the College of The Bahamas Lady Caribs will take on the Lady Techs at 3:30 p.m., and immediately following, the Intruders will challenge the Technicians in a men's affair.
