A jury was yesterday seated in the trial of two brothers accused of the murder of an off-duty policeman during an armed robbery. Dion "Bressy" Bethel and Kevin "Skeva" McKenzie have pleaded not guilty to allegations that they fatally shot and robbed Sergeant Wayne Rolle on December 4, 2014. Prosecutors Cordell Frazier and Uel Johnson allege that  Bethel and McKenzie fatally shot Rolle and robbed him of a $700 Samsung smartphone.

Rolle, a member of the Mobile Unit, was shot in the head in a friend's sport utility vehicle on Durham Street. Justice Ian Winder released the jury until October 19. In the interim, he will hear legal submissions concerning the case. Donna Dorsett-Major and Monique Gomez represent the accused men, who are in custody.
