Sands optimistic about this season

President of the Bahamas Association of Athletic Associations (BAAA) Mike Sands has high expectations for this year’s track and field season. He believes that elite, junior and youth track and field athletes will have a stellar year and will surpass 2010’s excellent showing on both the regional and international levels.
With three major championships scheduled, Sands said that it will be tight, in terms of finances, so the executives are hoping to get a jump on that. The top meets this year are the International Association of Athletic Federations (IAAF)?World Championships, the seventh edition of the IAAF?World Youth Championships and the?Jr. Pan American Games.
