The Bahamas Invites Pilots & Aviation Enthusiasts to Participate in Its Unique Fly In – A Multi-Island Conch Salad Tour On The Islands of Exuma, Bimini, Long Island and Eleuthera, October 16-18.

Avid pilots and aviation enthusiasts can explore the beautiful Islands of The Bahamas in an unique Island hopping adventure, “Conch Salad Tour and Fly In”, October 16-18, 2015.

The Fly In will provide participants the opportunity to visit four islands in The Bahamas 700 island chain, including Bimini, Eleuthera, Exuma and Long Island while sampling and judging in each island, the Bahamas’ best tasting conch salad, an exotic delicacy and one of the nation’s signature dish.  The group will be led by veteran Bahamas Flying Ambassador, Captain Terry Carbonell.

Aviators can expect to depart Ft. Lauderdale, Florida the morning of October 16 for South Bimini (airport code MYBS) where as their first stop in The Bahamas, they will clear Bahamas Customs before enjoying the native Bahamian music at Stuart’s Conch Shack and judging their first conch salad tasting.  On the same afternoon, the group will fly to North Eleuthera (MYEH) where they will overnight at the Valentine’s Inn and attend a cocktail reception and judge their second conch salad tasting.

On the morning of October 17, the group will depart North Eleuthera for Georgetown, Exuma (MYEF) to judge the best tasting conch salad and have lunch at Big D’s beachside restaurant.  They will also take time out to swim, snorkel or simply enjoy the beautiful sand beaches there while listening to live entertainment by the New Calypso Rockers.  The same evening they will move onward to Long Island (MYLS) and overnight at the Stella Maris Resort.  Once again, they will determine the best conch salad at a special cocktail reception hosted by the resort, featuring the best Bahamian Rake n Scrape bands.

The Fly In ends on October 18, when the group takes a scenic flight over Cat Island and the Eleuthera chain before making their final stop in Great Harbour Cay, located in the Berry Islands.  There they will have lunch and judge their fourth and last conch salad tasting, before clearing USA customs and returning back to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

Greg Rolle, Sr. Director of Sales and Sports for the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, said “the Conch Salad Fly In is a priceless and unforgettable experience for the expected pilots”.

“They will see first-hand, through this special program, why The Bahamas is the premier destination in the Caribbean.  Witnessing the guided and breathtaking voyage of our beautiful islands while experiencing the diversity and uniqueness of our culture and people is a wonderful and priceless opportunity awaiting them,” he said.
