Don't make decisions in panic mode

I was going to commence here today by asking you a question, and the question was, Do you ever panic? But somehow I believe deep down in my heart that just about everyone panics at some time. So, that's a given, let's start from that premise.

Now here's a question that I do want you to answer. Have you ever made an important decision when you were in panic mode? About something which either happened, or you anticipated would happen? Now I believe that with most of my readers the answer will be in the affirmative to that question. Now I don't know about you, but personally I have found that whenever you make decisions when in panic mode, most times the decision is not a good one at all and can in so many instances actually lead to much more serious problems.

For example, let's say a person is way behind in their mortgage payments on the house and they're being threatened with eviction. This person then takes out a rather substantial loan from someone who charges them a really excessively high rate of interest and they know that it is going to be virtually impossible to keep up the high payments to the shady loan company whilst also making their monthly mortgage payments -- this will obviously lead to disaster in the end. This is just common sense, and yet many make these kinds of bad decisions when they're in panic mode, which ends up causing more problems than they originally had.

So D. Paul, what is one to do when we have serious problems and are in panic mode -- just do nothing, you may query? My friend, the first thing you simply must do, no matter how difficult it may be is to calm down. I suggest you meditate which will calm you down whist you allow the God within to direct you to a solution to your problem. Once you get into a completely calm mood again, you will be able to think rationally which will assist you to make the kinds of decisions that will be beneficial rather than detrimental to you.
