The seed has been planted and the ball is now in your court to make it a reality.

After a spectacular American Labor Day weekend holiday at the Atlantis Resort which featured the CMA Songwriters Series, a meet and mingle party, and a talk and taste affair, the hosts of some of HGTV’s popular shows said they would love to host an episode or two here in The Bahamas.

“I’d better be doing an episode in The Bahamas,” said an enthusiastic John Colaneri, one half of the popular “Kitchen Cousins” and co-host of “America’s Most Desperate Kitchens”.

“With Kitchen Cousins we had the opportunity of doing an episode actually in Mexico for a client there. If HGTV allows us, and the Bahamian residents want it, tell them [HGTV] we want to see the cousins in The Bahamas do an episode and believe me we’ll be here in a heartbeat,” said Colaneri.

And he’s not the only one. Kitchen Crashers host and repeat visitor, Alison Victoria, says it would be a dream to host an episode here.

“This is my sixth time [in The Bahamas] so I love it here. How can you not? I’ve always had a blast but then our partnership with Atlantis and HGTV — even cooler. But it’s not up to me.”

That was the kind of infectious vibe surrounding this year’s HGTV Weekend at Atlantis. The fun-filled weekend wrapped up at the Sea Glass lounge at The Cove with a mix and mingle event.

The intimate affair drew locals and tourists alike — all fans of HGTV hit shows including Kitchen Cousins, America’s Most Desperate Kitchens, Kitchen Crashers and HGTV’s Smart Home — to meet the stars of the shows and get autographed event paraphernalia which included throw pillows, post cards and a good old fashioned photo op.

“You know, hosting a bunch of concerts with friends who are on other shows and getting to interact with fans — there’s no better way to do it,” said Anthony Carrino, the other half of the “Kitchen Cousins” and co-host of “America’s Most Desperate Kitchens”. “Being able to do it in the Caribbean like this, it’s a great way to close out summer. We’ve got a great loyal following and we’re really appreciative of it.”

Group rookie Tiffany Brooks, season eight winner of HGTV Star and host of HGTV Smart Home said she loved every second of the weekend’s activities and meeting the fans. She said the trip to The Bahamas was one she would love to repeat.

It was the second time Atlantis hosted the Labour Day weekend event through its partnership with HGTV.

“Honestly, every time we come to Atlantis, come to The Bahamas it’s better than the last trip,” said Colaneri. “It’s been so much fun. [The] Keith Urban concert was unbelievable. I mean he put on a performance that was so much energy. It rocked the crowd. I never saw Keith Urban [perform] before and the fact I got to see him here in The Bahamas … amazing! The best part about coming here is that the whole venue is so huge you don’t get to do everything in one trip. So every time we come back we always have a different experience.”

So HGTV fans get started on those emails to HGTV if you would like to have one of your favorite shows shot in The Bahamas.
