For the ninth consecutive year Commonwealth Bank has committed to improving the community through education by providing thousands of students in New Providence and the Family Islands with access to school supplies, providing backpacks filled with composition books, pens, pencils and rulers.

The bank's ongoing education program, which today tops $1.5 million in school supplies, technological teaching tools and scholarships, is an investment in the future of the country and a clear demonstration of the corporate responsibility to lend resources and expertise to effect positive change in the country, said Commonwealth Bank.

"Today we wish to extend our reach even further. To this end, on behalf of our board of directors, management and staff, we are pleased to make a presentation of back-to-school supplies to the Bahamas AIDS Foundation," the bank said.

"We appreciate the commitment and dedication that you and your team of volunteers and professionals undertake daily in the fight against HIV/AIDS in The Bahamas and trust that this donation will go a long way in helping you to help those individuals who rely on your services and support."
