Peppa Pig is coming to town

Peppa Pig, the lovable but slightly bossy little pig, is coming to town.

The four-year-old who lives with her Mummy Pig, Daddy Pig will be leaving them behind and coming to town for a family fun day on the August Monday holiday with her little brother George. Who knows -- her best friend Suzy Sheep may even make an appearance.

Peppa loves jumping up and down and muddy puddles, laughing and making loud snorting noises, and on Monday, Peppa Pig fans can join in the Peppa Pig fun during the 90-minute live interactive performance at the Dundas Centre for the Performing Arts on Mackey Street.

"This is not just the typical family fun day with characters just walking around and stopping for photo ops with children, this is an actual interactive show, a stage performance," said Renee "Natural Empress" Davis.

Reviews of Peppa Pig's live shows range from oinking good fun; to fantastic production that completely captures children's imagination and attention for the whole show; to a wonderful show that mother would take their children to see again and again. Davis who believes she has the number one Peppa Pig fan in The Bahamas in her three-year-old daughter Soleil (who is known as Punky) says her daughter's love of the little British pink pig solidified her decision to host the Peppa Pig Family Fun Day.

"[Punky] has been watching Peppa Pig since she was three months old, and was captivated from a very early age," said Davis. So-much-so, that she says her daughter speaks the way Peppa Pig does -- very proper, and very much the Queen's English. Punky is also the proud owner of all things Peppa Pig that can't be purchased locally or even in the United States. Peppa Pig paraphernalia come out of England.

"I find every time she goes somewhere with her Peppa Pig bag or Peppa Pig dress, we always leave kids crying because they want her Peppa Pig bag or Peppa Pig doll, so I said I would do a Peppa Pig show and fun day." And of course, parents will be able to outfit their children with their own Peppa Pig paraphernalia, as everything from watches to bathing suits, umbrellas, pens, pencils, knapsacks, gym bags, towels, sheet sets ... everything Peppa Pig will be able to be had.

"Peppa Pig is easily described as the new age Dora. She is a British pig who is very charismatic, very intelligent. She's so infectious. She is what it is today. She is the 'it' pig," said Davis. The family fun day will also feature Charlie the Bird and Eddie the Magician who will also showcase interactive performances during their sets. And no fun day would be complete for children if they didn't have their bouncy castles, face painting and food and all the bells and whistles that come with a day of fun.

Peppa Pig arrives in New Providence on Sunday for her day of fun on Monday. Gates to the fun day opens at 12 noon. The live interactive show starts at 3 p.m.

Peppa Pig's Family Fun Day is sponsored by DQ, Domino's, Poley's Playhouse, Tart Frozen Yogurt, Coca-Cola, Inflatable World, Juicin' ... for life!, Photo Ops With Jay Isaacs, Cheesecake Heaven, Pop Stop, and Eye Candy Makeup Studio.
