Several Bahamian graduates of Langston University hosted a welcome reception for the Langston University Alumni Association at Club Land’or, Paradise Island on June 17.

More than 32 Langston University alumni enjoyed Bahamian dishes during their visit to Nassau, a port of call on their alumni cruise.

There are approximately 80 Langston University graduates from The Bahamas. Given this sizable number, the Alumni Association plans to return to the Bahamas for an extensive visit and to establish a local chapter.

Langston University is a historically Black institution of higher learning. Notable alumni include American singer and actress Jennifer Hudson, Nathan Hare, an American sociologist and psychologist, and Bessie Coleman, the first female pilot of African American descent and the first person of African-American descent to hold an international pilot license.
