CIBC FirstCaribbean gives Employees the Royal Treatment

CIBC FirstCaribbean employees received a royal welcome from senior managers on their recent Employee Appreciation Day, held on May 14th at branches across the Bahamas and Turks & Caicos under the theme “Celebrating Royalty.” This day was also shared with their counterparts across the region and in Canada as well.

The day began with a ‘royal decree’ from Managing Director Marie Rodland-Allen, proclaiming the day as Employee Appreciation day and crediting the employees for the bank’s success in the country. The branches and units were suitably decorated with balloons, streamers, confetti, and more, all in the bank’s iconic colours of claret and gold, and branch staff were treated to a catered breakfast or lunch.

After a competitive vote by the employees, the JFK Branch won the contest, earning bragging rights for the year. Antoinette Turnquest, CIBC FirstCaribbean’s Director Human Resources, said that the Employee Appreciation Day committee sought to find creative ways to make our most valued resources feel as special as they are.

“The committee is very happy at the response,” said Mrs. Turnquest. “Our staff seemed pleased and eager to celebrate and it was wonderful to see so many branches enthusiastically participate in the photo competition. The committee worked tirelessly to come up with fun ideas to make our entire staff feel like true royalty, so that they know how important they are to the bank. I think the endless smiles seen on Employee Appreciation Day would signify success.”

“Our employees are the back bone of our bank. We are fortunate to have incredibly dedicated and talented employees and we could not be a leader in financial services in the region without them. So, today we recognise the accomplishments of the amazing individuals of the CIBC FirstCaribbean Royal Family; the bank is very thankful for their valuable contributions, and while we aim to demonstrate our appreciation every day, we hope they all feel extra special today.”
