Officers shot and killed one of four armed men during a shootout in Mason's Addition on Saturday, police reported. Officers responding to reports of gunshots around 3:30 a.m. in Fort Fincastle and Mason's Addition were confronted by the four gunmen who began shooting, police said.
The officers returned fire, killing one of the culprits, police said. He was carrying a glock pistol, according to police.
Police also recovered an AK-47 rifle as one of the suspects dropped it on the ground. As police arrested him, the other gunmen attempted to run away, leading police on a chase.
Police said they arrested a third shooter, but the fourth escaped. Police were still searching for him yesterday. The officers were not injured.
