Basketball academy's teams to take part in AAU tournaments

The Coach John Todd Elite Basketball Academy (CJTEBA) has once again begun intense training for its basketball teams, which will be taking part in the Amateur Athletic Union's (AAU) boys basketball tournaments this summer. The club will be taking two teams to Orlando, Florida, to participate in the AAU International Championships at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex from July 26-3, and the Dynasty Hoops Club (DHC) "Back 2 School" Classics from July 31 to August 2 at the Orlando Magic's RDV Sportsplex.

Two teams, a 12-and-under and a 13-and-under, will travel. They will have a series of scrimmage games against teams in the Orlando area before the tournaments get underway. While in Orlando, the teams will also be trained by top Nike basketball instructor and owner of Winning Ways in Orlando, Barry Mestel.

The 12-and-under team members are point guard Aron Major, point guard Deyton Albury, center Shannon Hudson, shooting guard Dayne Saunders, small forward Jaden Strachan, power forward Khyle Allen, power forward Brandon Duncanson and center Nathaniel Woodside.

The 13-and-under boys are shooting guard Winston Davis, point guard Daunte Stuart, power forward Brando Bain, center Peter Rutherford, point guard Deangelo Clarke, center Keano Roberts, power forward Tyler Kellman, forward Tyler Moncur, power forward Ahmad Young, small forward Sean Riley and shooting guard Terran Walkin.

The academy is in search of corporate sponsors to assist the student-athletes in their travel to Orlando. The academy operates at the St. Augustine's College (SAC) basketball courts every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
