Recently the Water & Sewearge Corportaion Social and Sporting Club hosted a ‘Bake for the Cure’ cake sale outside the Corporation’s head offices.

"In September of 2012, I was reading an article that stated that large numbers of Bahamian women were being diagnosed with breast cancer," said Ingrid Strachan, WSC Social and Sporting Club President.

"Most of these women had little or no means to getting proper treatment. I was so touched - particularly for the Family Island residents that had to commute to New Providence-some with no place to stay.

So in keeping with the call to serve, the ‘Bake for the Cure’ initiative was born."

Through the sales of cakes and staff donations, WSC's Social and Sporting Club raised $2,500, which were matched by the WSC bringing the total donation of to $5,000 for the Cancer Society.
