Over 200 children and their parents flocked to Atlantis over the weekend to spend an afternoon with Victoria Kahn, author of the "Pinkalicious" series of children's books. Kahn released her newest book in the series, "Aqualicious" -- the story of Pinkalicious' encounter with a miniature mermaid named Aqua. The children were also able to take a picture with Kahn and have her autograph their book.

The Crown Ballroom was transformed into a children's fantasy playground with a mermaid, games, face painting, cookie decorating, glitter tattoos, stuffed animals, video games and an amazing candy station for the youngsters' enjoyment.

"The Pinkalicious series is the most popular children's books in our library," said Atlantis Librarian Stephaney Davis."Hence we thought it would be fitting for Atlantis to do the official launch for 'Aqualicious' since the book is themed with an aquarium and a mermaid. So many of our guests said it was amazing. Many were patrons at our first 'Pinkalicious' event last year," said Davis.

One of those return customers was Tiana George who brought her two daughters.

"Aqualicious was entertaining. As a mom, I wished there was a care package for me as well. The personal touch really stood out. Having the author present and involved was amazing. The kids enjoyed having their books personalized by her. And the mermaid was definitely a hit, especially when she was released to return home," said George.

Denoratha Archer-Cartwright and her daughter who won entrance to the event through Atlantis' page on Facebook for Bahamians and residents, "Atlantis Local" received the royal treatment and had a personal meet and greet with Kahn.
