PELICAN POINT, Grand Bahama - On Easter Monday the east came to life with hundreds of visitors and locals alike sampling everything coconut at the 17th Annual Coconut Festival at Pelican Point.

The settlement of Pelican Point was the place to experience what some of our visitors called, "a great coconut experience".

It was a day filled with fun and games like "Pass the Coconut", "Coconut Tart Eating Contest", "Coconut Straw Plaiting" and "Coconut Barking".

Live music and entertainment was provided by Bahamian artists like Veronica Bishop, The Grand Bahama District Pop Band of the Royal Bahamas Police Force, and Kirkland "KB" Bodie.

Celebrating with the locals and visitors on Easter Monday were the Dr. Michael Darville, minister for Grand Bahama; Harrison Thompson, permanent secretary, Ministry of Tourism; Betty Bethel, director, Ministry of Tourism and Peter Turnquest, MP for East Grand Bahama.
