On Easter Monday the East came to life with hundreds of visitors and locals alike sampling everything Coconut at the 17th Annual Coconut Festival at Pelican Point. The settlement of Pelican Point was the place to experience what some of our visitors called, “a great Coconut experience.”

It was a day filled with Fun and Games like ‘Pass the Coconut,’ ‘Coconut Tart Eating Contest’ ‘Coconut Straw Plaiting,’ and ‘Coconut Barking.’

Live Music/Entertainment from Bahamian Artists like Veronica Bishop, The Grand Bahama District Pop Band of the Royal Bahamas Police Force, and Kirkland “KB” Bodie.

Celebrating with the locals and visitors on Easter Monday were the Hon. Dr. Michael Darville, Minister for Grand Bahama; Harrison Thompson, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tourism; Betty Bethel, Director, Ministry of Tourism; and Peter Turnquest, MP for East Grand Bahama.

Easter Monday, April 6, was a wonder to behold. A day where hundreds of people got together -- and Fun-Love-Peace-and-Coconut was the order of the day.
