THE opening game of the Bahamas Basketball Federation's Sunsplash shootout featured tough defense and a battle on the boards for rebounds in the double overtime thriller.
After playing two extra periods, the Salve Regina Seahawks topped the Westminster (PA) Titans 63-59 at the Kendal Isaacs Gymnasium Monday night.
The Seahawks shot just 21 per cent in overtime but converted 7 of 11 free throws to surge ahead for the win and improve to 6-2 on the season. The Titans fell to 2-8 and their seventh consecutive loss after starting the season 2-1.
