The 2015 Bahamas Bowling Federation's (BBF) National Team Trials are in the books, and David Slatter still reigns as the best bowler in the country today. Slatter did not bowl the last game of the fourth block, and still beat his nearest competitor, Richie Pyfrom, by about 300 pins. New faces on the national team this year will be Alcondo Hepburn, Charles "CQ" Johnson and Kevin "Benedict" Williams.

Williams held off Ansel "Big Bobby" Ferguson by a mere eight pins to capture the eighth and final spot. Other team members are Mario Brown, Lee Davis and Sonith "Kemosabee" Lockhart, and two others will be added.

On the ladies side, even though it was not her best performance, Driskell Rolle can claim that she is the number one qualifier on the team. Janice Hoyte made a late surge but fell short by 15 pins to finish second.

The field this year consisted of 36 male bowlers and 13 ladies vying for spots on the national teams. A total of 24 games over four nights, with six games per night, were held. The trials started on Sunday afternoon and concluded on Wednesday night.

With trips planned for Mexico, Puerto Rico and possibly Canada, bowlers are excited about this year's travel plans. The other members of the team will be named within the next two weeks, then the real work will get underway as the squad will begin train for international competition.

The federation wishes to extend special thanks to Greg Wilkinson and Raymond Adderley of Mario's Bowling and Family Entertainment Palace, and also to Shanta Kerr-Richardson for her assistance over the four nights of bowling.
