Scotiabank continues to be relevant and responsive to needs of the local community at the grassroots level. On Saturday past, February 21, the bank hosted “Love Fest” – a day of games, pampering and empowerment for the residents of the Willie Mae Pratt and Simpson Penn Centres.

Scotiabank’s male volunteers, led by the bank’s Managing Director Sean Albert, gathered at the Simpson Penn Centre for a “round-robin” basketball tournament, quality one-on-one conversation, fun foods and a featured motivational guest speaker who encouraged them to make right decisions to ensure a bright future.

At the Willie Mae Pratt Centre, female Scotiabank employees played games with the girls and treated them to manicures. They heard from a popular inspirational guest speaker over lunch who emphasized that the beginning of one’s life story, no matter how challenged, does not have to determine how the story ends.

This is the fifth time that Scotiabank has hosted Love Fest for the residents of the Willie Mae Pratt and Simpson Penn Centres. Scotiabank’s Bright Future global philanthropic program brings together the passion of employees, the insight of the bank’s partners and the spirit of communities.
