Don't forget the dinner reservation: Romantic, sexy, decadent his and her menu options lead the way at Melia resort

One of the most important components to Valentine’s Day — other than the roses, stuffed animals and chocolates — is the dining experience. And this Valentine’s Day, specials abound at restaurants around the country, but at the Melia Nassau Beach Resort, they’re taking it a step further, offering a decadent five-course his and her menus in two of their restaurants in what will arguably be some of the most romantic settings around on Saturday.

In the Black Angus steakhouse, a restaurant that features hip, contemporary jazz and modern décor they will be offering smoked duck breast prosciutto and asparagus bruschetta; pumpkin and tarragon cappuccino with shrimp deep-fried spring roll; Chilean sea bass with artichoke and goat cheese ravioli in white wine sauce and bell pepper sauce for her; and beef tenderloin rosemary essence, risotto with funghi porcini, foie gras napoleon and fig and sweet port sauce for him.

Aqua, an a la carte restaurant that specializes in exquisite, rustic Italian cuisine will feature a special menu showcasing a tuna carpaccio small salad with wasabi cream and raspberry vinaigrette; chestnut cappuccino and feta cheese spinach crispy turnover; artichoke, goat cheese and thyme capellini al pomodoro lemon grass-orange infused sauce for her and rack of lamb over dried tomatoes and funghi risotto with lamb juice for him.

At both restaurants the chefs will surprise diners with decadent dessert offerings, including petit fours, a chocolate truffle at the end of the night and a rose for the female. The price also includes a cocktail at arrival, one bottle of wine and entertainment.

At Black Angus diners will dine to the sweet sounds of a saxophonist; diners at Aqua can enjoy Bachata dancers executing the style of dance that originated in the Dominican Republic. Bachata is the sister/brother dance to the salsa.

The rhythm is loving, sexy and can be spicy. Dance moves, or step variety, during performance strongly depends on the music, setting, mood and interpretation. At both restaurants, a Bahamian lobster tail can be added to any entrée for an additional $35 charge.

The Black Angus menu is being offered at $125 per person; with Aqua prices at $99 per person. In both instances, gratuity and VAT have to be added. To take the romance quotient to its maximum, you can expect to dine at rose petal strewn tables.

Melia Food and Beverage Director, Juan Carlos Cardona said their Valentine’s offerings with menus for him and her showcase their chef’s sensitivity. Cardona said the offerings will be delicious and offer patrons value for their money. “The prices are a pretty good deal,” said Cardona.

The resort’s other restaurants — Nikkei, which is celebrated for its fusion of Japanese, Cantonese and Peruvian cuisine and which features a sushi bar and Teppanyaki tables; and cilantro which takes guests on a gastronomic journey through the textures, aromas and flavors of Mexico will serve their standard menus as they decided that those restaurants would maintain their essence.

Cardona says reservations are a must as they expect their covers to be fully booked. They can do about 90 covers in Black Angus and accommodate 180 covers in Aqua.

“It’s going to be fun and entertaining,” said Cardona.

After dining, he encourages guests to take the time to socialize in Estavida, their upbeat tapas lounge located in the hotel lobby.
