Danny Johnson, lost again

Dear Editor,

What exactly does Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture Dr. Daniel Johnson mean and does he believe it when he said that "there is no divide ever between this government and the Church in The Bahamas"? If he believes that then he can also believe that Eskimos live in the Sahara Desert. Where was the Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture when the Bahamas Christian Council participated in many rallies against the legalization of Web Shops in The Bahamas? Did he not hear the protestations of the clergy?

Where was the honorable minister of youth, sports and culture when the Bahamian people went to the polls and voted overwhelmingly against regularizing and legalizing gambling houses in the country? Did he not go and agreed in the House of Assembly to pass the Gaming Bill, despite what the people in Carmichael and practically every constituency voted for? So what if he goes to Transfiguration Baptist Church and been there since birth? He can still have the wrong concept of what makes a person a Christian, who follows the tenets of the Word of God, The Bible.

For, after all, Satan himself was created by God, in Heaven but when he ceased to follow the leadership of God, there was a parting of the ways. He was cast out. Bahamas Christian Council President Dr. Ranford Patterson was explicit in his expressions of what the Carnival environment will do to Bahamian womanhood and the effect it will have on the wider population. So what exactly will the government say to the church leaders in the planned meeting, and will Rev. Patterson and the other church men be persuaded to align their thinking with that of the government?

Time is short and it will tell. Yours, etc.
