Super Bowl what? Well if you were in Simms, Long Island for Super Bowl Sunday, the place to be wasn't in front of the television to watch the New England Patriots trump the Seattle Seahawks. The hottest venue in town was surprisingly the sanctuary at St. Peter's Anglican Church as the Anglican Church Women (ACW) had all eyes on them, rocking the house with a concert to raise funds to assist the organization with their commitments throughout the rest of the year.

Rector Father Chester R. Burton described the evening as "amazing" with songs and presentations the order of the night by members from a number of denominations around the island including Eloise Pelecanos, Joseph Edgecombe and the St. Joseph's Church Choir. The evening, which was the brainchild of ACW President Floret Adderley, saw performances were seen from St. Peter's Dance Troupe, Jennifer Smith, and Beulah Baptist Praise and Worship Leader Latoya Adderley Miller.

Catechist Mavis Knowles, Yvonne Ditmar, and Ethel Pratt performed a skit that spoke to the criteria and attributes of a virtuous woman while Ivernia Miller delivered a song. Pastor Scoffield Miller played the Hawaiian guitar; Pastor Bob Smith and T'ron Romer delivered on drums with Ezekiel Rolle on bass synthesizer.

For the evening, many of the women dressed in attire depicting remarkable woman of the Bible -- from Eve in the Garden of Eden covered by fig leaves, to Jochebed, the mother of Moses, Queen Esther, Sarah, Dorcas, Mary the Mother of Jesus, and Mary Magdalene.

"It was phenomenal, and better than Super Bowl," said Burton.
