BTC Opens New Business Solutions Center & Launches New Product

The Bahamas Telecommunications Company (BTC) launched its Business Solutions Center for corporate Bahamas at the BTC flagship store in The Mall at Marathon on Thursday January 22nd, 2015. BTC also announced the launch of its Business Phone Plus (BPP) product that provides major savings on long distance landline services for businesses.

The BTC Business Solutions Center is equipped with the most modern teleconferencing facilities and can be used by BTC business partners, to meet both their local and world-wide video communication needs. On a daily basis the venue will be used as a learning and demo product center, as one size does not fit all when it comes to business collaboration systems of voice, video and data. The ‘try and buy’ environment helps businesses of any size, source the most efficient and cost effective solution to manage their communications networks.

The room has 4 high definition displays, a whiteboard and projector, a conference bridge to accommodate up to 24 participants in one session and a state of the art high definition video conference platform in addition to a wide array of offerings for business customers.

Introducing a live video conference call during the launch event to showcase the facilities, BTC CEO Leon Williams said that new opportunities to provide more options for customer satisfaction, such as the new Business Solutions Centre, was always a primary focus of the company.

The Honorable Allyson Maynard Gibson QC, Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs joined the press conference via teleconferencing from her government boardroom. The Attorney General gave BTC’s MPLS network high accolades for reliability, quality and security and noted that she was a very satisfied customer. The MPLS product has allowed the government to save a lot of money and time and has played a major role as the foundation of the swift justice initiative.

“Witness evidence is now given via teleconferencing instead of flying people to Nassau; additionally, we have less need to transport prisoners to the courts, we simply use video conferencing,” said Maynard-Gibson.

The A.G. also noted that the Remand Centre and the Police Force use video-conferencing consistently for their needs in Nassau, the Family Islands and in fact, world-wide. Leon Williams, BTC CEO, said the new offering stemmed from recognition of business clients’ needs for tailored telecommunications tools.

We’re happy to announce that our small to medium business customers are now able to sign up for our Business Phone Plus product, and enjoy up to 3,000 of talk time at one low flat monthly fee.” Business Phone Plus, is a new solution providing more options for small and medium businesses. BPP is similar to the residential offering of Home Phone Plus and provides businesses with the ability to make long distance phone calls at one low rate.

BPP packages include all calling features, calls to China, the European Union, the USA, Canada and the UK, in addition to discounted rates to the Caribbean.
